[She stares at her Forge a long time before answering.]

Is this a trick or something? Because I'm not falling for it. [Low blow, Dean, sending his nice brother to fool her. Almost as low as trying to cut her head off.]

No trick.

[He raises a hand in surrender, he's trying to keep movement of the other to the bare minimum.]

I just want to talk. Please.

Fine. Talk. [Because for all she knows he wants to kill her too. She makes sure to keep the camera very still so it doesn't give away her location.]

[He sighs, trying to sort out his thoughts into coherent sentences.]

[He starts running a hand through his hair before realizing it's too short now and letting his hand drop.]

Dean told me you live on blood bags. Is that true?

I'm surprised he even heard me say that over the shooting. But yeah, it's true. Blood bags and bunnies.

I know it's - very little help but - if that's true then we have no beef with you.

[He pauses, not sure what to say]

You have every right to be mad at Dean, to even hate him. But thing is he wasn't himself this weekend, none of us were. He - doesn't hate you. And for Dean that says a lot. He feels terrible, he really does.

Of course it's true! I know what it's like to be fed on, to be victimized. And I'm never doing that to anyone. I'm not a monster, I'm just me. I didn't ask for this.

[She's looking decidedly unhappy.]

He tried to cut my head off. And he would have if my friends hadn't stopped it. And yeah, I was totally myself. I didn't even attack him or anything.

I get it - I do.

[Well maybe this'll put things in perspective, at least he hopes so.]

He shot me too, Caroline. He wasn't himself.

[She looks surprised at that, there's even a flash of concern.] Are you-- [She stops herself from asking if he's okay. She has to play tough I-don't-care Caroline.]

So you're saying he wouldn't have killed me normally? [Because she's sure he would've.] I know I lied but you have to understand why now. Because stuff like this, because it puts more than just me in danger.

You - he wouldn't. Not as long as you don't hurt anyone.

[He nods]

I do understand. [He's done it himself.] You just wanna live normally, right? So do we.

For some reason, I don't believe you. And now I feel like I'm being hunted.

Yes, I do. And just because the 'monsters' from where you're from are all bad doesn't mean they are all bad from mine.

I know that.

[He sighs. He can't exactly blame her for any of it; he wouldn't be forgiving in her place either.]

I don't know how to make you believe me, I gotta say I'm stomped here, it's a first. I just hope you take the fact that the whole city's gone nuts into consideration...

[And you know, don't get vindictive.]

[Suddenly it dawns on her.] So that's what this is about? You're worried that I'm going to try to get some payback? Like I said. I'm not some monster. I don't operate that way. I'm the one hiding from you guys.

[She can't say the same for Damon. And well, she's trying everything she can to prevent any retaliation. Even if right now? She wants revenge, still if she won't take it.]

I won't lie to you and say it's not a part of it, but honestly - I don't know how you make up trying to kill someone to them.

I can tell you you don't need to hide, but you won't believe me. I can tell you I haven't seen Dean feel this guilty about anything that wasn't about family in - heck never. I don't know what else to do.

I asked him to let me do it first, I thought I had a better chance of getting you to talk, that's my fault.

[He shakes his head]

No, you're right, I didn't. But I saw the look in his eyes when he faced me. I know Dean, he would rather die than shoot me. If he was far gone enough to do that -

I wouldn't have talked to him anyways. [She admits that at least. ] I didn't want to talk to you. [Yet, she did. Sam at least always seemed more open minded.]

I don't trust him. And I'm sure he doesn't trust me.

That's fair - honestly I would hang up on myself if the tables were turned.

You've got no reason to trust us, I know. But I'm gonna say it anyway, we're not gonna hunt anyone that's not hurting people.

Dean didn't believe me when I said I didn't. Why do you believe me now? [She's suspicious.]

I have my abilities and a direwolf to back me up, so if you guys try to hurt me... I'm not going to hesitate this time. [Meaning: if she hadn't cared about not hurting Dean, there's no way he would've gotten the jump on her like that.]

The mist's faded, we've got our heads back together.

[He shakes his head]

Honestly, I want to believe you, and if I had proof yeah I'd be more at ease. But that works both ways - I need proof someone's done something wrong to gank them, too.

I know you can probably kill the both of us with a flick of your finger but I'm taking that fact that you didn't so far as a good sign.

How am I supposed to prove it to you? [She sounds seriously annoyed.] You know, except for not doing anything bad for the whole time I've been here. Have you heard of any animal attacks or bodies being drained? That would be because it hasn't happened.

And yeah, I can kill you and I haven't because I'm not a cold-hearted d-bag. [Aka Dean.]

Bodies can be hidden in the mist easily enough. [He point out] Look, like I said - I want to believe you, I like you.

[He pauses]

The mist's a bitch, you know. It messes with different people every time. It could one day end up messing with you.

[And you'd want people's understanding then.]

I'm not hiding bodies! I haven't killed anyone!

[She glares]

So then you'll put me down?

So then I hope people'll try to understand you.

So far the track record isn't so good, hence why I've been keeping it a secret.
