Hunting for my meal is something I've never had to do. There's no thrill in feeding from someone in a sterile room who's there day in and day out. The temptation isn't there.

Yeah. Moroi saliva has endorphines in it that gives them a high, so it's easy to get addicted. No one dies, but they lose a few years.

Unless a Moroi kills while feeding, yeah. If that happens, they turn Strigoi.

That sounds really... complicated. Yeah. There's only pain. [ she knows from experience.] Unless you compel them not to be in pain.

What, are there different kinds of vampires or something? With humans? No, it heals them.

Just Moroi and Strigoi. Strigoi are all about blood and carnage. They're stronger, faster, and weak to sunlight. If they were Moroi before, they lose any connection with the element they specialized in. They hunt us, basically, but they'll settle for humans.

And how are they different... physically? I mean are they born that way or...? Are they like hybrids? Yours doesn't?

Strigoi aren't born like Moroi and Dhampirs are. They're made, either by force or choice. Passing as human isn't an option for them. They're paler, for one, and their pupils are rimmed with red.

No. I know another spirit user who can heal with her magic, though. That's about it.

Vampires can't have children. At least where I'm from they can't.

Well, Moroi can have kids. Dhampirs, too, even if they're only half. I was born Moroi.

We're living vampires, I guess you can say. Our lifespans are longer, but we're not immortal like Strigoi. We have heartbeats and can walk in the sun, despite how uncomfortable it gets.

I get to live forever and never age so long as I don't get killed. And we have some vulnerabilities.
